Coles Fine Flooring has been named one of the Top 100 Retailers in the Country, as seen in Floor Focus Magazine, a national trade publication. The 2009 list, a published acknowledgment of influential dealers in the flooring world, included many big-name companies from all over the United States, and we at Coles are proud to have been included in that list.

BBB Torch Award Finalist

Coles has been recognized by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) as a Finalist for the 2009 Torch Award for marketplace ethics.

The San Diego BBB recently presented its Torch Awards- an annual awards program that, now into its 10^th year, honors businesses and organizations that uphold and maintain the ethical standards & practices of the BBB.

We have ranked among many contenders, and many other fine businesses, because of our commitment to service and integrity, and are pleased to have been named as a finalist for such an honorable award.

Coles & CALA unite against Lawsuit Abuse

Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) is celebrating its 15-year anniversary this year, and joining forces with George Coles to promote awareness and open dialogue in a time when we need it most. People across the country are realizing that lawsuit abuse is having a big impact on health care costs, small business survival and overall jobs & economy.

On October 6^th, Coles and CALA are co-hosting an event that features two nationally prominent advocates of legal reform- Hugh Hewitt, a national radio talk show host, law professor, lawyer & author, & Philip K. Howard, author of The Death of Common Sense and Life Without Lawyers: Liberating Americans From Too Much Law. Mr. Hewitt will be broadcasting his radio show live from Coles Fine Flooring. We invite you to be a part of the live studio audience as we discuss the state of lawsuit abuse.

Humane Society Telethon Success

The 2009 Telethon supporting the San Diego Humane Society & SPCA was held Sunday, March 8th. Our own George Coles was an honorary host of the successful event, which raised nearly $300,000!

KSDS Announces 5th Annual “MUSIC MATTERS”

KSDS Jazz 88.3 FM, a broadcast service of San Diego City College, has announced that it will continue the “Music Matters” program in support of music education in local schools for a fifth consecutive year.

For one month, February 1-February 29, San Diegans can donate their used musical instruments at any Coles Fine Flooring location (colesfineflooring.com) in San Diego County, or at the KSDS Business office on the City College campus. All instruments will be completely refurbished by the Community Council for Music in the Schools (CCMS) and then distributed among San Diego City School music programs.

Since introducing the program in 2005, over 240 instruments have been donated to the San Diego City Schools. The goal in 2009 is to match this number of instruments, greatly benefiting school-aged children in San Diego County.

’Music Matters’ is simply another way that we are able to give back to the San Diego Community as well as further music education for young people, ” said Mark DeBoskey Station Manager for KSDS. “The goal of this program is to provide instruments to children who want to play music, yet might not have the financial means to buy their own.”
