Hardwood Care
Sweep and vacuum your floor regularly.
Clean your floor only with products recommended specifically for
wood flooring, available at Coles.
Never pour liquid cleaner directly onto your floor.
Do not wash your floor with a wet mop; use a mop with a cloth cover.
Clean up all spills promptly.
Hardwood Maintenance
Maintaining relative humidity control in our home is essential to having a healthy environment for hardwood floors. It is recommended that you keep your humidity levels between 35-60%.
Furniture legs and wheels can scratch and gouge your wood flors - use protective covers (rubber or felt work best, as opposed to plastic) at the base of all your furniture.
Doormats or rugs at all entry points can significantly reduce the amount of dirt and moisture being tracked into the house and onto our wood floor.
Rugs or mats are also strongly recommended in areas where water is used (sinks, tubs, dishwashers, etc.)
Do not move heavy objects such as a refrigerator without putting a protective cover underneath first; one good way to move such objects is to lower them onto a rug and slide them across the room.
